True Blood Season 1 Spoilers and Info
    « Thread Started on Oct 28, 2005, 5:42pm »

Last updated on 11/23/2008 (season 2 on page 2). New spoilers and/or information are marked NEW.

Until the episodes actually air, please consider these "potential" spoilers only. In other words, I cannot guarantee that what is described in the spoilers will actually occur on the show. If a spoiler on this page has been found by someone else, I have credited them below.

If you want to quote elsewhere a few spoilers you read here, I won't mind, but please mention my site as being where you got them (http://www.deadwoodstage.proboards34.com). Do not copy and paste entire spoiler threads word-for-word elsewhere, unless you have specifically asked me first. Thanks!
    ~ Rhoswen

(One more thing regarding spoilers posted here for True Blood: I have read all of the books that this show is based on. So, sometimes I may refer to events or characters from the books that either haven't appeared yet on the show, or were different on the show than in the books, etc. The show is based on the 'Southern Vampire' books by Charlaine Harris, but there will be differences. I'm glad, because then people who have read the books will still have surprises to look forward to :))

“Vampires have, in effect, come out and demanded their full civil rights,” says Billingsley, “So humans are now beginning to have to accept the fact that there are vampires among us, and we must live with them. It’s a recurring role, I believe. I’m the parish coroner. My partner in crime in this episode was William Sanderson from DEADWOOD. He’s a great guy, really charming. And the lead is Anna Paquin.”

“If you’re the town coroner, and the show is about vampires killing people—with people dying right, left and center—I figure I’ll get to do a few more of those.” (source: starlog.com):

    Episode Spoilers:

    Episode 101, "Strange Love":

    • 1/3/2007 - Casting notice for the Pilot Episode:

    True Blood
    HBO
    One hour Pilot, "Strange Love"
    Start Date: Approx. May 2007
    Location: TBD

    • 1/20/2007 - Storyline: Two years after vampires have "come out of the coffin," thanks to a synthetic legally sold synthetic blood substitute, small town Louisiana waitress Sookie Stackhouse (who can hear people's thoughts) is fascinated when a handsome stranger, Bill Compton, clearly a vampire, comes into Merlotte's, the restaurant where she works. As Sookie's brother, Jason, faces murder charges after a woman he spent the night with was killed, Sookie finds herself in trouble from two vicious locals, Mack and Denise Rattray, who are outraged that she interrupted their attack on Bill, whose blood they wanted to drain and sell.

    • 8/12/2008 - Across the country, vampires have come “out of the coffin” after the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood. In Louisiana, Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress with telepathic abilities, falls under the spell of a sexy, 173-year-old vampire named Bill Compton – whose thoughts she can’t read. After saving Bill from the Rattrays, a pair of ruthless “vampire drainers,” Sookie tests the limits of Bill’s gratitude when the two are left alone in the dark.

Meanwhile, Sookie’s best friend Tara quits one job to work for Sam Merlotte at his bar and grill, and Sookie’s roguish brother Jason finds himself in hot water when a “fangbanger,” whom he’s been intimate with meets a tragic end. (source: ign.com)

    • Roles; UPDATED 1/20/2007:

-Sookie Stackhouse (played by Anna Paquin) - Early to mid 20s, authentic Southern energy and accent a must, Female, Caucasian. Blonde, fit and tan, pretty but wary, can seem a bit prim (She disdains certain bad language and behavior), Sookie is spirited and independent--or at least, trying to be--but life has left scars on her--scars we may not be able to see but can somehow tell are there. Blessed/cursed with the ability to hear people's thoughts, Sookie lives with her loving grandmother (Her parents apparently died when she was young) but has always been an outsider, and is well aware of it from hearing people's sometimes cruel thoughts. Sookie, like the rest of the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, is intrigued by the idea of the assimilation of vampires into the population, but she's surprised by her feelings when a real vampire, Bill Compton, comes into the bar where she works, sparking all sorts of complications in her life.

-Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer) - A strangely handsome man, looks 30-35 UPDATED 3/14/2007: looks 25-35 (He's really 166), with dark hair, dark eyes and old-fashioned sideburns; Rugged, but with an air of refinement, Bill is a vampire, the first to come into Merlotte's bar. Gracious, unnaturally calm but also unnervingly sexy, Bill immediately attracts the attention of Sookie, with whom he flirts mildly, but also that of Mack and Denise Rattray, who unabashedly fawn on him. A proud man, Bill is not happy to acknowledge his debt to Sookie when she rescues him from the Rattrays, who turn out to be blood drainers who would have drained and sold his blood if not for Sookie's intervention. Despite himself, Bill clearly finds himself drawn to Sookie. UPDATED 3/14/2007: Series Regular. Must do a Southern accent.

-Tara Thornton (played by Brook Kerr Rutina Wesley) - Mid to late 20s, Female, African-American. Smart, articulate, impatient and beautiful, Tara does not suffer fools gladly; in fact, she doesn't suffer them at all, which is why she frequently gets fired from her jobs after telling clients/customers what she really thinks of them. Good friends with Sookie, Tara winds up working at Merlotte's bar with her, where the plain-speaking Tara informs an oblivious Sookie that the owner, Sam, is obviously in love with her. Tara herself has a thing for Sookie's brother, Jason, but she's more concerned about Sookie's potentially dangerous attraction to a vampire. UPDATED 3/5/2007: Southern; Authentic Southern accent is required.

-Jason Stackhouse (played by Ryan Kwanten) - Sookie's brother, Jason is effortlessly hot and a total horndog with a mischievous grin which gets him into a lot of trouble, and most of time gets him out of it as well. Self-absorbed, egotistical, capable of charm, sexually rambunctious, with a dark streak, Jason has clearly been involved with many women in his small town; however, his latest sexual encounter with Maudette [Pickens], later found dead, is obviously going to cause him a lot of trouble. 27 to 29. Series regular.

-Sam Merlotte (played by Sam Trammell) - Quiet but strong, with eyes that immediately put you at your ease, Sam is the owner of Merlotte's bar/restaurant, where Sookie works. A decent guy who's secretly in love with Sookie, Sam is very concerned when Sookie is instantly attracted to Bill Compton, the bar's first vampire customer, and he's furious when she puts herself in real danger by going to Bill's aid against blood-drainers Denise and Mack Rattray. Sam hires Sookie's best friend Tara to work in the bar, and though he's not thrilled with her habit of going off on customers, he does recognize that, as Tara says, he'd have some help keeping an eye on Sookie. Male, All ethnicities, 30 to 35.

    • 2/24/2007 - UPDATED 4/16/2007: Additional roles; Shoot dates: June, 2007; Authentic Southern accents required for all characters unless otherwise stated:

-Detective Andy Bellefleur (played by Chris Bauer) - In his late 30's, built like a boxer, with a perpetual scowl on his rugged face, Andy's a detective with the Bon Temps Police Department. With Sheriff Bud Dearborne, he comes to bring Jason Stackhouse in for questioning regarding the murder of Maudette P[i]ckins. Recurring.

-Arlene Fowler - Late 30's or early 40's and she is in complete denial about it. She is a waitress at Merlotte's with flaming red hair. Arlene is busy and harassed with kids, a no-good ex-husband and a new boyfriend, Rene Lenier, who works with Jason Stackhouse. Arlene returns to Marlotte's on her night off to have a drunken dinner with Rene and their friend Hoyt Fortenberry, at which she offers condolences to Sookie for her brother Jason's arrest. Recurring.

-Lafayette Washington - 20's-30's, African-American, solidly built. Lafayette is not in the least bit feminine - EXCEPT WHEN HE WANTS TO BE, even though when he's working the grill at Merlotte's he sports lipstick, eye shadow and club wear under his chef's white; at his day job with the County Road Works he wears a doo-rag and jumpsuit pulled down to the waist, revealing his powerful torso, making him look like a gangsta rapper. Gay and unapologetic -- in fact, he's strong enough to do serious damage to anyone who gives him any grief about it and would relish such an opportunity. Lafayette loves making the girls at Merlotte's crazy with his frankly sexual talk. Recurring.

-Adele Hale Stackhouse - 75, white-haired, endearing, warm. Adele is the grandmother of Sookie and Jason, the person who raised them after their parents' deaths; She now lives with Sookie. A spry woman with a lively interest in things, she's intrigued rather than frightened when Sookie mentions that a vampire came into Merlotte's; Adele later wants Sookie to ask the vampire if he was alive during the Civil War, and if he'll come speak to her Descendants of the Glorious Dead group. Recurring.

-Dawn Green (played by Lynn Collins) - 29, an attractive brunette who doesn't expect too much out of life and is generally pleased with what she gets. Dawn is a sexy, playful, good-hearted woman with common sense who once dated Jason and seems more amused than tempted by his sudden resurgence of interest in her. She tries to keep him at bay but winds up agreeing to go out with him. Recurring, 3 Episodes.

-Sheriff Bud Dearborne (played by William Sanderson) - 50's, fit and tough, with a mashed-in bulldog face and a cowboy hat. Dearborne is the Sheriff of Bon Temps. With Police Detective Andy Bellefleur, Dearborne comes to bring Jason Stackhouse in for questioning about the murder of Maudette [Pickens]. Recurring.

-Rene Lenier - Late 20's, dark and wiry, with a Cajun accent. Rene works with Jason and is on hand when Jason gets picked up in relation to the murder of Maudette [Pickens]. Rene is also having a relationship with Arlene Fowler, and has dinner with her and Hoyt at Merlotte's, where a furious Sookie confronts them about Jason. Cajun Dialect Required. Recurring.

-Hoyt Fortenberry (played by Jim Parrack) - Late 20's, nondescript. He's a friend and fellow worker of Jason and Rene Lenier; he's on hand when Jason is taken off by the cops in relation to the murder of Maudette [Pickens]. Later, Hoyt joins Rene and Arlene for dinner at Marlotte's, where a furious Sookie wants to know what happened with Jason and the cops. Recurring.

-Denise Rattray - Somewhere between 30 and 50, hard-living, aggressive, married to Mack. Denise is a vicious and violent woman who, upon realizing there's a vampire in Marlotte's, quickly moves in on him, apparently with sexual intent. However, Denise is actually interested in draining Bill's vampire blood and selling it, and she's later furious when she and Mack are interrupted by Sookie as they assault Bill. Denise is clearly going to get her revenge on Sookie. Recurring, 2 Episodes.

-Mack Rattray - Somewhere between 30 and 50, hard-living and aggressive, married to Denise, looking like he might be crazy. Mack joins Denise in fawning over the vampire Bill Compton in Marlotte's restaurant, but in fact he's only interested in draining and selling Bill's vampire blood. During his and Denise's attack on Bill, Mack tries his best to ward off Sookie, but ultimately both he and Denise are forced to flee the scene. It's clear he and Denise will come back for their revenge on Sookie. Recurring, 2 Episodes.

-Maudette [Pickens] (played by Danielle Sapia) - 26, A trashy looking young woman. She's having sex with Jason when he gets distracted by her account of her recent sexual encounter with a vampire, a disturbing, violent liaison which Maudette has on tape and shows to Jason. Later, Jason has similar rough sex with Maudette, which she apparently enjoys; she's also taping this, unbeknownst to Jason. It's later revealed that Maudette was murdered that night. Nudity Required.

-Super Save-A-Bunch Store Shopper - This snooty, matronly shopper at a Wal-Mart type store is annoyed when she can't find what she wants, and winds up in an altercation with an impatient and equally irritated Tara.

-LSU Frat Boy - 21, A handsome LSU frat boy, all-American but with that wild streak that certain privileged Southern boys have. He's riding with his LSU sorority girlfriend when they stop in a convenience store that advertises "Tru Blood." Pressing the clerk for details, they're fascinated to think that there are actually real vampires in Louisiana, but are freaked out and terrified when an actual vampire menaces them.

-LSU Sorority Girl - 20, A conventionally pretty LSU sorority girl with a dazzling smile and a flawless body (the kind of woman who will marry well), she's riding with her LSU frat boyfriend when they stop in a convenience store that advertises "Tru Blood." Pressing the clerk for details, they're fascinated to think that there are actually real vampires in Louisiana, but are freaked out and terrified when an actual vampire menaces them.

-Convenience Store Clerk - Part Asian, part psycho, looking flat out evil, with a southern drawl. He's a clerk in a convenience store. When the LSU Frat Boy and Sorority Girl come in to ask about the "Tru Blood" stock, the clerk amuses himself by pretending for a minute that he's a vampire, but he gets the fear of God put into him when the real vampire in the store threatens to kill him.

-Good Ole Boy (played by John Henry Canavan) - 40's, This pudgy good ole boy is in the convenience store trying to decide on a cold drink when the LSU Frat Boy and Sorority Girl come in. A vampire himself, he's not amused by the Clerk's joke, and threatens to kill him if he ever impersonates a vampire again.

-Vampire Spokeswoman - A pale, conservative looking woman, media savvy, who speaks with authority. She's a vampire who represents the Vampire Rights Amendment, and she's interviewed by CNN pundit Anderson Cooper. She speaks passionately and intelligently about her cause. Southern Accent Not Required.

-Anderson Cooper <--(NOTE: Bill Maher appears in the pilot episode instead, on his show 'Real Time with Bill Maher.') - This CNN pundit/news person has a televised Interview with The Vampire when he speaks with a Vampire Spokeswoman about the new Vampire Rights Amendment. He later interviews a televangelist who's opposed to the amendment.

-Super Save-A-Bunch Store Manager - The manager of the Super Save-A-Bunch store. He's terrified when a furious Tara quits and threatens him with retaliation from her recently paroled boyfriend.

-Customer - This white male customer at Merlotte's snaps his fingers at Tara for service, and gets an earful. He meekly apologizes.

    • 5/7/2007 - Additional role being cast:

-Tattooed Vampire (aka Liam) (played by Graham Shiels)

6/22/2008 - (After viewing the pilot episode, I'm going to guess that the woman watching from the woods (in the screencap below), who runs away when Sookie comes to Bill's rescue, is Claudine (Sookie's fairy godmother (and cousin)), even though Claudine didn't appear this early in the books. If the woman in the woods were Lorena (Bill's "mom," as Sookie puts it) I think that she would have rescued Bill, and if she were the Maenad she probably wouldn't have run away... UPDATED 7/4/2008: I watched a more recent version of the pilot (with Rutina Wesley, not Brook Kerr, playing Tara), and the mysterious woman in the woods did not appear in the episode, so it may be a moot point (at least as of the first episode) who she is:
...And if you haven't read the Southern Vampire books, and you're thinking, "Fairy godmother? Maenad? Wha?? I thought this show was about vampires!" Well, if the show delves into the supernatural world as much as the books do, then eventually we'll meet other characters who are werewolves, shapeshifters, goblins, demons, witches, etc. We got a hint of this in the pilot, because the dog that licked Sookie after she rescued Bill... isn't just a dog ;)):

    Episode 103, "Mine":
Written by: Alan Ball; Directed by: John Dahl

    • 6/11/2008 - In “Mine“, Tara visits LaFayette seeking comfort from her woes, Sookie meets some of Bill’s rowdy friends and saves them from harm from a human among them, and, Sookie and Hugo visit the Church of the Fellowship of the Sun. (source: true-blood.net) <--(Sookie and Hugo Ayres didn't visit the Church of the Fellowship of the Sun until the second book. UPDATED after viewing the episode: The "Sookie and Hugo visit the Church of the Fellowship of the Sun" scenes weren't in this episode, so those scenes were either cut from the show completely or moved to a later episode.)

    • 8/12/2008 - Foiled in their attempt to “glamour” Sookie, the vampires Malcolm, Liam and Diane make a hasty retreat after Bill lays claim to the waitress. At Merlotte’s, Sam seeks a short-term remedy to his long-term loneliness, while Tara seeks respite from her mother’s alcohol-fueled rage. Spurned by Dawn for lack of performance, Jason turns to Lafayette, Merlotte’s short-order cook, for help with his problem. (source: ign.com) <--(Lafayette sells vampire blood as an aphrodisiac (source: io9.com), so that's probably why Jason contacts him. Tara's mother wasn't in the books, so she's a new character.)

    • 9/18/2008 - Sookie is trapped with Bill Compton's vampire friends. Vampires Malcolm, Diane and Liam get a hold of Sookie but retreat after Bill saves her. Back at Merlottes, Sam Merlotte and Tara Thornton come to the rescue of Sookie in a bar fight. (source: aceshowbiz.com)

    • 9/18/2008 - [One of Bill's vampire friends] has picked up a trick infected with what sounds like hep[atitis] V (It's actually called "hep D" in the episode). (source: slate.com) <--(This infected trick is whom Sookie warns Bill's guests about in the book. If a vampire feeds from someone infected with "Sino-AIDS," it can severely weaken or even kill the vampire. In the books, Sino-AIDS is different from AIDS, which doesn't hurt vampires.)

    • 9/18/2008 - Sookie becomes the focal point of a heated dispute between Bill and his more bloodthirsty vampire associates; Sam and Tara find common ground in their current states of romantic affairs; Jason begs Lafayette for help with a personal problem. (source: tv.yahoo.com) <--(It sounds like Sam and Tara may end up comforting each other because the real objects of their affection (Sookie and Jason) are interested in other people.)

    • 9/21/2008 - Sookie sees the cruel side of the vampire culture. Also, her brother's bigotry grows. (source: thestarpress.com)

    -Duke
    -Jerry
    -Steve Newlin

Later, Bill demonstrates his own considerable powers when an abusive patrolman stops the couple on their way home. (source: ign.com)

Episode 105, "Sparks Fly Out": (title source: imdb.com)
    Director: Daniel Minahan

    • 6/26/2008 - Mariana Klaveno plays a vampire in the series, and according an interview with her at hackslashdead.com, it has the possibility of being a recurring role. <--(I'm assuming that that means she'll have a recurring role in season 2. UPDATED on 9/29/2008: Based on previews of flashbacks in this episode, it looks like Mariana Klaveno plays Bill's sire, Lorena.):

    • 7/31/2008 - Gran invites Bill to speak at her Descendants of the Glorious Dead meeting about his life as a Confederate Soldier. Shown in flash-backs of the Civil War, we are shown the horror that Bill saw and how the attempted rescue of a wounded soldier, crying out from the battlefield, lead to his best friend’s death. Bill then fields questions from his audience and one member of the DGD shows Bill a tintype of the Compton family, which Bill doesn’t remember having taken, but is moved by it nonetheless.

Among the audience in attendance at the DGD meeting are Sam, Sookie, Tara and Jason, as well as three trouble-making young men packing a garlic press. Sam notices that Sookie is very tense, while Jason, high on vampire blood, is noticing Tara as if for the first time. After the meeting, Gran and Bill watch Sookie leave with Sam as they go out for coffee.

At Merlotte’s, the three trouble-makers from the DGD meeting have issues with Lafayette’s cooking. Lafayette confronts them and they wish they had never walked into Merlotte’s that night.

Included in tonight’s episode is another flashback to when Bill meets Lorena, the vampire who turned him, and Sookie deals with the loss of someone close to her. (source: true-blood.net) <--(If you want to know who Sookie lost at this point in the first Southern Vampire book, click on the spoiler bar below):

[spoiler]Sookie and Jason's grandmother Adele was murdered after the Descendants of the Glorious Dead meeting. Sookie found her body when Sam dropped Sookie off at home after they went out for coffee.[/spoiler]

    • 8/22/2008 - Nashville singer-songwriter Paul Burch is getting a lift from the undead. Burch's "Sparks Fly Out," a tune from his Fool For Love album, will be featured in an episode of True Blood, HBO's new series about vampires. "I believe it's going to be played while a couple of vampires are dancing," Paul said. (source: tennessean.com) <--(I'm assuming that a song called "Sparks Fly Out" would be used in the episode of the same title, so I put this news with information on the 5th episode. I wonder if the vampires dancing could be Bill and Lorena?)

    • 9/12/2008 - "Bill Compton addresses [the Descendants of the Glorious Dead] in a rustic Baptist church in Bon Temps. Bill served as a Confederate Army first lieutenant during the Civil War. (source: nymag.com)

    • 9/17/2008 - Sam reveals his feelings to Sookie.

    • 9/20/2008 - Bill proves to be a popular attraction for Adele's historical society, but his stories of the Civil War dredge up painful memories of the wartime experiences that changed his life forever. Meanwhile, Jason decides to give "V" another try, Sam finally asks Sookie for a date, and Andy and Bud keep the murder investigations open. (source: tvguide.com)

    • 9/20/2008 - Spurned by an exasperated Sookie, Bill ends up winning over Adele's church audience with his vivid recollections from the Civil War, though Andy and Bud remain suspicious. Sam tries to make the most of his opportunity with Sookie, though she's clearly not ready to commit. Ignoring Tara's rebuff, Lafayette convinces Jason to give vampire blood, aka "V juice," another shot. Alone at home, Bill remembers the painful wartime incident that changed his fate forever. (source: tv.ign.com)

    • 10/5/2008 - The episode begins with Sookie and Bill getting in a fight following the altercation Bill had with the police officer toward the end of the fourth episode. The fight ends with Bill saying, "I won't call on you again." The first 45 minutes of the episode serve as a set up for the final ten which involve a look at how Bill became a vampire and an episode ending cliffhanger. (source: ropeofsilicon.com)

    -Chuck

    Episode 106, "Cold Ground":
    Directed by: Nick Gomez

    • 9/20/2008 - Randi Sue (played by Danielle James in 4 episodes) is a character created specifically for the show. She is a Louisiana native and first introduced at Merlotte's, the local diner bar. She comes on the scene newly-divorced from her car-shooting husband to seize life, probably for the first time, as a free woman. She is uninhibited and committed, a fun and vibrant character.

There are aspects and characters in the novels that did not make it to the screen version because they weren't transferable such as vampire Elvis. (source: Cached version of interview from starrymag.com) <--(It appears that Bubba won't be in the series, at least not in season one.)

    • 9/20/2008 - Numbed by tragedy, Sookie looks for refuge from the cacophony of her friends' and neighbors' inner voices. After lashing out at his sister and decking Andy, Jason wrestles with withdrawal symptoms from his V juice habit. Tara resists the overtures of her mother Lettie Mae, who's trying to rid herself of a demon and needs her daughter's help. Sam and Tara make a connection in their mutual search for "something real." (source: tv.ign.com)

    • 5/28/2008 - Roles cast:

-Randi Sue (played by Danielle James):

    -Mayor Norris
    -Minister
    -Obese Man
-Uncle Bartlett (Sookie and Jason's great-uncle; their grandmother's brother)

Episode 107, "Burning House of Love":
Written by: Chris Offutt; Directed by: Marcos Siega

    • 6/29/2008 - Here are before and after pictures of a Shreveport house that was burned for scenes in 'True Blood.' If these scenes follow the first book, then the house was the one Bill's vampire 'friends' used (Malcolm, Diane, and Liam) for their nest. (source: shreveporttimes.com:

    • 9/20/2008 - Sookie's painful childhood revelation about her Uncle Bartlett spurs Bill into action. Despite her skepticism, Tara agrees to pay for an exorcism to purge Lettie Mae of a demon. In search of V juice, Jason travels to Fangtasia, where he bonds with an adventurous young woman named Amy. A trio of rednecks decide to exact vigilante justice on a pack of vampires who crashed Merlotte's in search of their wayward mate Bill. (source: tv.ign.com) <--(If you want to know what Sookie's revelation was in the first Southern Vampire book, click on the spoiler bar below):

[spoiler]Sookie's great-uncle (her grandmother's brother Bartlett) molested her when she was a little girl.[/spoiler]

    • 10/13/2008 - "Jason's struggles with his V addiction get worse to the point where he's caught by Sookie looking for items to pawn at their grandmother's house. After Lafayette refuses to sell him any more V, he heads to Fangtasia to score some more vamp blood. That's where he meets Amy (Lizzy Caplan). The two click immediately over their shared V addiction. Jason is also impressed with Amy, a Connecticut Yankee, for her extended vocabulary and more positive outlook on life.

We get a continuation of Sookie and Bill's love-in, including a little bubble bath time. That's where she shares the truth about her Uncle Bartlett and her childhood.

The three skeezy vamps make a trip to Merlotte's, terrorizing some of the customers to get Bill's attention. Sam tries to hold them off, but fails. Bill arrives and leaves with the trio. Three of the Merlotte's customers decide to get some revenge on the vamps and set fire to their house the next day. Sookie then learns that four bodies burned in the fire.

Andy and Terry Bellefleur spot Sam doing something about as weird as rolling around in a dead woman's bedsheets." (source: blogs.pioneerlocal.com)

    • 10/15/2008 - [Lizzy Caplan] reveals that she will play an original character that doesn’t feature in any of the Charlaine Harris books upon which the series is based. “I normally play a lot of characters that could be considered dark,” Caplan says. “This is a total departure from that. She’s still really twisted and screwed up, but she’s actually sort of a hippie. She loves nature and thinks everything is connected and that there is so much beauty in the world. But she’s actually kind of tweaked in the head.” (source: www.the-trades.com)

    • 5/28/2008 - Roles cast:

-Amy Burley (played by Lizzy Caplan) - 6/11/2008 - Quote from Lizzy Caplan (Marlena in 'Cloverfield') in a bloody-disgusting.com article dated 4/20/2008: "Yeah on Monday I start shooting the first of five episodes of Alan Ball's vampire series True Blood. It comes out this fall. I don’t know what I can and can't say about it since I have been JJ Abrams brainwashed.. I will just say I am playing something on this show that is super dark!" UPDATED 7/3/2008: Lizzy Caplan will play Amy Burley, a college student living in a vampire-filled town. (source: allbusiness.com); UPDATED 7/18/2008: Lizzy Caplan [is] Amy Burley, the new girl in town who falls for Jason. (source: Thomas Allen Heald at TV or Not TV) <-- (In the first 'Southern Vampire' book, Amy Burley was just a waitress who was mentioned briefly when Sookie read her resume, and also later after Amy was found murdered. If Amy Burley is in 5 episodes and is "super dark," then it appears that her role has been expanded and changed.):

    -Gus

-Miss Jeanette (played by Aisha Hinds) <--(It looks like she's the exorcist.)

    -Paramedic 1+2

    -Tourist
