Episode Spoilers, continued...
Ep 620, "The Blue Comet":
• 1/7/2007 - Shoot Dates: January 19-February 14, 2007 (in New York).
• 2/2/2007 - (I'm including this information with this episode because the shooting dates match up.) According to a NorthJersey.com article (specifically, some of the actors involved in the filming) Tony, Silvio, and Patsy Parisi have scenes in this episode. Scenes shot at/outside the club that represents the Bada Bing included Patsy Parisi - with blood on his face - standing in a garbage-strewn, wet gully next to the building; and Tony and Silvio in front of the Bada Bing (pictured below); a chase scene was also filmed:
• 2/20/2007 - This was posted by roxhater at The Sopranos forum at nj.com: "I was at Trainworld on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook, LI today and they had a sign in the window saying the store would be closed 2/14 and 2/15 for the filming of a Sopranos episode. The owners of the store said they're shooting one scene where one of the characters (Bacala?) is shopping in the store and is confronted by someone who abruptly comes into the store. A struggle ensues, one of the characters tries to flee and is shot dead outside the store..." (source: post #11336 at nj.com/forums/sopranos/; I followed a link posted by quickie212 at televisionwithoutpity.com.)
• 4/26/2007 - This episode will not be more than an hour long; it will air at the show's regular time, from 9-10 PM ET.
• 5/9/2007 - The allegiance of those closest to Tony is put to the test; a case of mistaken identity has serious ramifications. (source: tv.ign.com) (Based on the casting notices below, I'm guessing that Yaryna's Dad is mistaken for Phil Leotardo.) <--(UPDATED 5/23/2007: Yaryna's father may (or may not) be mistaken for Phil by someone in this episode.)
• 5/16/2007 - Loyalty to Tony reaches a critical stage for those within his sphere of influence; a case of mistaken identity has grave consequences. (source: tvguide.com)
• 5/19/2007 - (Just some speculation: Because there were funerals the last time family members of Tony's crew (Paulie's brother and Christopher's mother) appeared on the show, I'm concerned for Silvio's well-being in this episode. His Uncle Joe, his daughter Heather, and Heather's baby all make an appearance, according to the casting information listed below.)
• 5/23/2007 - Episode summary for "Blue Comet" posted at TWoP by af32x6; UPDATED 6/1/2007 (scroll down to a photo of Corky Caporale and Patsy at the Bada Bing) with a photo that contradicts part of a post by af32x6 at TWoP; I now consider af32x6's summary to be a FAKE. A good, convincing fake, but a fake nonetheless:
"Silvio finds out from a cop-contact of his that Paulie has flipped, and that it happened off-screen, shortly before season 6b started. He tells Tony about it at the Bing, followed by a long conversation about how they are going to handle the situation. This is what is meant by “He’s playing both sides of the fence” from the previews. Tony reveals to Silvio that he was considering killing Paulie on the boat in “Remember When”, and regrets not doing it when he had the chance. Silvio gives Tony a weird look because he’s not sure why Tony would have wanted to kill Paulie, since he hadn’t known he flipped, he wouldn’t have had any other good reason. This leads to an argument, in which Silvio begins questioning Tony’s leadership and the amount that he cares about looking out for his crew. Tony explodes, and ends up hitting Silvio. Silvio turns back around and hits Tony, and as Tony falls backwards, Silvio realizes what he’s done and runs out of the Bing.
Phil decides to retaliate for the fight Tony had with Coco. He says that his decision is to take out Tony’s crew one by one.
Bobby does in fact get killed in front of the model train store just as many other spoilers have reported. This is where the episode title comes from. However, his son is not with him.
AJ escapes from the mental facility by jumping out of a window into a dumpster. However, he lands awkwardly and sprains his ankle. He starts calling for help, and nurses from the facility come out and have to help him back in to the building.
There’s a scene with the Feds in which they are talking about LCN and one is talking about Paulie Walnuts coming in handy in their case against Tony. The other agent corrects him, say that it is actually Carlo that they flipped recently. The other cop is stunned, but he never gets a chance to get back to Silvio with the truth ….
Tony gets a call from Silvio on his cell, who is calling to ask for forgiveness. Tony had a Melfi scene in which he realized Silvio might have been right in his opinion of Tony, and is no longer really mad at Sil. Tony tells him to meet him at the Bing to talk, and that they can’t let their feud distract them from taking care of Paulie, who will be a big problem. Tony is late getting to the Bing because Carmella calls him to say that there’s something wrong with AJ, and so Tony has to meet her at the hospital first.
Silvio gets to the Bing and is confronted by two hit-men that were hired by Phil. Having never seen the killers before, he is shot dead believing that he was actually set up by Tony. Patsy comes out as the murder takes place, and is caught off guard. The hit-men think they must now kill Patsy too, but he manages to narrowly escape on foot.
I’m told the scene at the hospital is very emotional, as AJ begs to come home and Carmella tells him that she can’t take all his nonsense anymore, and that she can’t emotionally handle it.
Tony stops by the Bing and when he learns what happened he quickly leaves, afraid he will be in danger too. At home, he gets a call from Janice that Bobby was shot dead. He tells Carm, who breaks down and cries again – Between AJ and Bobby, we see her really begin to lose it in this episode.
The episode closes at Silvio’s wake. Patsy is there and has told Tony what happened. They are also talking about Bobby. The rest of his crew is there at the service to, trying to get Tony to start a war with Phil and retaliate. Tony just stands there in silence. At the end of the episode, he sees some flowers that were sent with a card on it from the FBI. Tony looks thoughtfully at the card as the scene fades out, and we’re left to wonder if that’s the only place left for Tony to turn." (So, according to this summary, the case of mistaken identity is that Paulie is thought to be a rat, when actually it's Carlo; UPDATED 5/26/2007: The following characters mentioned in casting notices, imdb.com, and elsewhere for this episode are missing from af32x6's episode summary: Yaryna's father, Yaryna, Roberto, and Corky Caporale. The fact that there's no mention of them is making me think that perhaps the summary is fake. I've posted a few questions for af32x6 at TWoP, and if I receive a response, I'll let you know. I'm on the fence about this summary, and I'm still looking for spoilery info about the episode, so if I find anything that definitely proves any part of af32x6's summary to be false, I'll post it here; UPDATED 5/28/2007: af32x6 responded to my questions, but the only new bit of information offered is that Tony's having to deal with A.J.'s escape attempt is what makes him late to meet Silvio at the Bada Bing.)
UPDATED 6/1/2007: af32x6 posted another reply to my questions a few days ago at TWoP (the new reply included a comment about Corky Caporale NOT being in "Blue Comet," HOWEVER, I found a photo today at hbo.com that shows Corky sitting at the Bing with Patsy in "Blue Comet," and that conflicts with what af32x6 said his source told him in an email):
Quote:| "You are correct (and obviously reading spoilers all over the place, eh?); Corky did originally have a scene in this episode. The scene is still basically intact, but David decided that it played better at the beginning of Made in America. As I’ve said, The Blue Comet ends with the uncertainty of whether or not Tony will seek revenge against Phil or turn to the FBI for an out. The inclusion of Corky’s scene makes Tony’s choice immediately apparent, so David felt it better to keep the suspense amped up by having Tony call Corky in towards the front of the last episode." |
|
(The photo below shows that Corky has a scene with Patsy, likely some time before the scene in which Patsy is running with a bloody face through a wet gully next to the Bing, since Patsy looks fine in this photo, and the photo of Patsy in the gully (also shown below) is numbered after the Corky/Patsy one. As far as I'm concerned, this contradictory evidence casts a lot of doubt on af32x6's entire "spoiler" post, since it looks like Tony doesn't wait until the final episode to contact Corky.):

• 6/1/2007 - The rest of the photos for "Blue Comet" from hbo.com, showing (among others) Tony and Carmela at Artie's restaurant (also not mentioned in af32x6's summary above), Bobby buying a Blue Comet model train, and A.J. with a girl (Could this be the rumored "Rhiannon?" In one photo, Silvio is wearing the same sweater as in one of the pics from further down the page, from donnavivino.com - maybe his relatives in the episode are at a party rather than a wake?):
![[image]](http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/1540/ep8516kt5.th.jpg)
• 6/2/2007 - Artie Pasquale, who plays Burt Gervasi, a member of Tony's crew, returns in a larger role in Sunday's penultimate episode, "The Blue Comet." He has at least one major scene with Tony's consigliere, Silvio Dante (Steven Van Zandt), at Gervasi's home. "You know, 'The Sopranos' is just like the military, you're sworn to secrecy. You wouldn't want me to break that code, would you?" he asked in a recent interview. "I can just tell you that as far as me, if everything goes well, I've got a pretty exciting episode." (source: northjersey.com) (He's pictured below, and is also in the first episode photo (with Steven Van Zandt) shown immediately above):
![[image]](http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/6897/artiepasqulenu1.jpg)
• 6/2/2007 - Call sheet info for this episode posted on 5/15/2007 by JDPeck at TWoP which is backed up by the above episode photos: "The call sheet for "Blue Comet" includes Dante Greco (Tony's driver) at Rosalie Aprile's house. AJ gets a new girlfriend named Rhiannon." <--(The scene with Tony, Dante, Rosalie, and Carmela (in which Carmela and Rosalie were looking at photos) didn't take place at Rosalie's house, but both Dante and Rosalie were in the episode, and the scene could originally have been written on the call sheet to take place at Rosalie's home; there were a few discrepancies between the episode and the hbo.com promo photos for the episode, so it appears that several scenes were filmed in different ways.)
• 6/2/2007 - Photo from hbo.com showing A.J. and Rhiannon outdoors in a wooded area (source: murphy0515 at TWoP board):

Episode Spoilers, continued...
Ep 621, "Made in America": <-- The very last episode
• Start date: February 20 - March 23, 2007; Location: N.Y.C.
• 3/9/2007 - Supposedly, the final scene of the final eisode is set in an old-fashion ice cream parlor. The Sopranos recently obtained permits to film at Holsten's Brookdale Confectionary store in Bloomfield, N.J. (source: cnn.com):
![[image]](http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/1699/holstenssopranosoj8.th.jpg)
• 3/15/2007 - Photos of filming for The Sopranos on Mulberry Street in Manhattan's Little Italy on 3/14/2007. A bucket of ash was used to simulate snow falling, and the extras were acting like it was cold, so apparently it's winter in the episode. (source: AP) (I say acting cold because it was really pretty warm yesterday in the Northeast for this time of year.):
![[image]](http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/1533/mulberrystreetlittleitaze1.th.jpg)
• 3/21/2007 - Tony Sirico and James Gandolfini filming a scene at Satriales pork store today for the last episode:
![[image]](http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/4811/satriales20070321czf8.th.jpg)
• 4/12/2007 - In Long Branch, NJ on Good Friday, scenes were filmed for the final episode at a vacant beach house. In one scene, James Gandolfini exited a van and ran into the boarded-up house. According to a crew member, the former beach house will act as a refuge for Tony Soprano and his family in the final episode. Another scene, reportedly of a drive-by shooting, was also shot that day along the boardwalk. Below is a photo from the article of James Gandolfini with a crew member during a pause in filming. (source: atlanticville.gmnews.com) Shooting had begun hours before Gandolfini arrived. Take after take of a scene in which a navy blue van marked "Stanholz Beverage" drove by with a mobster archetype behind the wheel, with Tony along for the ride. But because most of the shots of the moving van did not require a close-up of Gandolfini, a look-alike stand-in was brought in to sub for the star. Later, when Gandolfini arrived on set, scenes of the van that required close-ups were filmed with the real Tony in the passenger seat. (source: app.com) (He appears to be wearing the same coat/clothes as in the pictures above of the scene at the pork store.):
![[image]](http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/9867/tonyfinalepisode1pj9.th.jpg)
• 4/26/2007 - This episode will not be more than an hour long; it will air at the show's regular time, from 9-10 PM ET.
• 4/26/2007 - Will Tony (James Gandolfini) finally get a contract put on his head; can Silvio’s (Steve Van Zandt) un-wavering allegiance to Tony really last till the end and what will happen to the rest of television’s favourite crime family? Also starring Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Edie Falco and Michael Imperioli. (source: corusent.com)
• 5/19/2007 - Photos from Sopranos filming at a Raceway gas station in Morris Plains on 3/13/2007, supposedly for the final episode (perhaps for the same scene as the filming at the Raceway on 4/9 was for); the filming involved a woman running screaming from a black SUV (source: dailyrecord.com) <--(UPDATED 5/26/2007: The running woman may be Patty Leotardo, Phil's wife. The actress who plays her, Geraldine LiBrandi, was present for filming. (source: JDPeck at the TWoP board) A photo of Geraldine LiBrandi is also shown below.):
![[image]](http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/7058/geraldinelibrandisb7.jpg)
• 5/19/2007; UPDATED 5/23/2007: (I moved this information from "The Blue Comet" to this episode because of the description for that episode posted by af32x6 at TWoP (quoted above in the "Blue Comet" episode spoilers), and also because another a poster at TWoP, JDPeck, watched the scene being filmed and says Frank Vincent and the actress who plays his wife were both there, and that Benny shoots Phil. <--UPDATED 6/10/2007 after watching the episode: The info was almost correct, and it's always possible that the scene could also have been shot another way, but in the episode as it aired Benny was the driver, and someone else shot Phil.) The Sopranos filmed on April 9 at the Raceway gas station on Route 10 and Route 202 in Morris Plains. (source: dailyrecord.com) (A man with white hair is slumped on the ground near the gas pumps in some of the photos, so I'm wondering if this could be an attempted hit on Phil, and perhaps the man on the ground is Yaryna's father? If it's not Yaryna's father, then it's likely Phil himself. <--UPDATED 5/23/2007: It's looking more likely that Phil is shot in this scene, rather than Yaryna's father. <--UPDATED 6/4/2007: Yep, it's Phil who gets shot at the Raceway (Yaryna's father was killed in a botched hit attempt on Phil in "The Blue Comet.") See the post below for "Made in America" for photos of the other day of filming.):
![[image]](http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/7251/racewaymorrisplains2007zf4.th.jpg)
• 5/28/2007 - Frank Santorelli, the Waltham comic who has played Georgie the Bada Bing bartender in 16 episodes of “The Sopranos,” reports that he’s scheduled to be mixing drinks for Tony and the boys on the final two installments of HBO’s mob hit. But don’t ask the tattooed barkeep if Tony will end up sleeping with the fishes, because he swears he doesn’t know! “I know people are dying on the show,” he said, “but I really have no idea what happens. I just do my scenes and then I’m outta there.” Frank said the conflicted mob boss, played by James Gandolfini, doesn’t seem at all stressed out in their final scenes together - even though Tony’s son tried to off himself, he’s at war with the New York mob and recently dispatched nephew Christopher to the great movie lot in the sky. “Tony’s very relaxed,” he said. “He’s just sitting at the bar with some of his boys.” (source: thetrack.bostonherald.com)
• 6/2/2007 - Call sheet and finale filming info from JDPeck at TWoP, whose call sheet info about "Blue Comet" was correct, about this episode: "I was at the Holsten's set back in March when they were filming the final episode. After some persuasion, I got a PA to let me glance at the call sheet for that day. Here's what the scene entails: The scene in the ice cream parlor only contains Tony, Carmela, and AJ. Later, Meadow joins them. It says that the family eats onion rings, while AJ recalls some advice that his father once gave him. Meanwhile, Meadow attempts to parallel park her car several times (she's late). Nothing about Paulie. I didn't see Tony Sirico there, but if he was, he was probably just there to visit the set. Frank Vincent also stopped by. There's a scene that's described in the call sheet where Tony meets Agent Harris at the airport. Uncle Pat Blundetto reappears somewhere in the episode.
Also, I showed up for the Phil Leotardo hit at the Raceway gas station. It was definitely Frank Vincent there (I know some people think it was Phil's goomar's father who looks like him, but the actress who plays Leotardo's wife was also present). Phil gets out of the car, stops by the passenger window, and Benny comes from behind and shoots him. The scene also included four black kids who see the murder, and one of them vomits. <--(UPDATED 6/10/2007 after watching the episode: Well JDPeck almost had the right description; Benny wasn't the shooter, only the driver. Missed it by that much! Great job with the Phil death itself, though!)
I also showed up at the Baccalieri house when they were filming, the day before the Raceway. The scene was Tony coming up from the deck, with a present in hand, to talk to Janice, who's sitting on a lawn chair."
• 6/4/2007 - The preview for this episode shows Phil Leotardo on the passenger side of a vehicle, at what could be the Raceway gas station.
• 6/4/2007 - I enlarged part of one of the Raceway photos to show what could be (as in "possibly, but I wasn't there, so I don't know for sure") Max Casella (Benny Fazio) on the set during filming. A shot showing Max during filming of a 2005 Sopranos scene at the pork store is shown for comparison (source: sopranosuesightings.com):
![[image]](http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/4089/maxcasellarobertfunarozi2.jpg)
• 6/5/2007 - I have been sent new photos (from JDPeck) taken during the filming of the Raceway gas station hit, and these photos CLEARLY show that Frank Vincent, Geraldine LiBrandi, and Max Casella were present at the gas station and dressed in character for filming. Since there is a brief clip of Frank Vincent getting out of the passenger side of a vehicle in the preview for the final episode, it seems likely that the gas station scene in which Benny shoots Phil will be included in the episode that will air next Sunday. UPDATED: I've received the ok to go ahead and post the photos, so here they are; Frank Vincent is wearing the same track suit as in the preview for "Made in America" that aired after "The Blue Comet". It appears that panels/barriers were erected around the location where Benny shoots Phil:
![[image]](http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/8308/racewaydeath1wq6.th.jpg)
• 6/6/2007 - Photo of a mural inside Holsten's Brookdale Confectionary, the ice cream parlor; 2 photos of the scene where Tony brings a package to Janice on her deck. (source: JDPeck); JDPeck also sent me a photo of a call sheet dated 2/22/07 (part of which is shown below) that mentioned a scene in which Tony pistol-whips Butchie (set in Coco's Brooklyn restaurant), however he didn't know whether this scene would be in the finale, or whether the scene that already happened in which Tony beats up Coco might have been filmed instead. (A snowy street scene was filmed on Mulberry Street in Little Italy for this episode (scroll up for photos posted on 3/15/2007), so maybe that means that Butchie's pistol-whipping will occur, too? <--UPDATED 6/10/2007 after watching the episode: No pistol-whipping for Butchie.):
![[image]](http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/8014/sopranosbutchsceneinfoym7.th.jpg)
• 6/6/2007 - Photos for this episode from hbo.com are below; (Just my speculation: If the first 13 photos are numbered according to the sequence of events in the episode, then it appears that the ice cream parlor scene happens part way through, not at the very end; also, it would mean that Phil doesn't die until later in the episode - perhaps Butchie and the others under him are out of the way by then, or at least not a cause for concern? Tony and his family don't seem too concerned about their safety in the first few photos, so something may happen relatively quickly that makes them feel fairly safe. Maybe George Paglieri, the NY boss in the casting notices, is somehow related to that?):

Three more photos:

• 6/9/2007 - Paolo Colandrea, owner of Paul's Penndel Pizza, last month filmed a potentially pivotal scene for the final episode of “The Sopranos.” Colandrea, 47, describes his role as simply “mystery man,” a guy who walks into a diner and locks eyes ominously with Tony, who's sitting at a table with wife, Carmela, and son, A.J. Colandrea sits down at the counter, stares at Tony again, gets up to go the bathroom, and... He can't say what happens next. But even if he could, it might not mean a thing.
“Sopranos” creator David Chase reportedly filmed three different endings to ensure secrecy. Colandrea, who spent 18 hours on the set one day and 10 hours two weeks later, doesn't even know if his scene will appear.
Colandrea, who doesn't have any lines, filmed his scene at Holsten's Diner in Bloomfield, N.J. Off camera, he said he mingled with series stars James Gandolfini (Tony) and Edie Falco (Carmela) and met Robert Iler (A.J.) and Chase. Colandrea also saw Jamie-Lynn Sigler (Meadow) on the set but didn't talk to her. (source: phillyburbs.com)
• 6/9/2007 - John "Cha Cha" Ciarcia, who plays "Albie Cianflone" in the HBO series the "Sopranos," will play a pivotal role in Sunday's season finale of the "Sopranos." (source: ap.com):
![[image]](http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/9987/johnciarcia20070608tl9.th.jpg)
